Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown
  • Release Date: January 18, 2024
  • Platforms: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch
  • Developer: Ubisoft

Starting the year with some larger-than-life gameplay and decent storyline. The Lost Crown is a new platformer, side-scrolling spin on the series, developed by Rayman Legends, so you know it’ll be good. You’ll be taking the journey to Mount Qaf, a Persian-inspired environment full of secrets to uncover as you attempt to save the Prince himself. You’ll need to apply Time Powers, battle, and platforming skills to defeat the antagonists that hide there as well.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
  • Release Date: January 26, 2024
  • Platform(s): PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC
  • Developer: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio

US (United States) is in the scene for the first time here! Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will bring the series to the United States for the first time, with Kasuga Ichiban and Kazuma Kiryu embarking on what Sega describes as “a larger-than-life RPG” thanks to an “unexpected chain of events”. With Ichiban waking up naked on an American beach in the reveal trailer, we may expect even more surprising events.

In several ways, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an important turning point for the franchise. It’s most likely a farewell to the cancer-stricken underworld icon Kiryu, as well as an official induction ceremony for Kasuga as Kiryu’s successor in the series going forward.

Tekken 8

Tekken 8
  • Release Date: January 26, 2024
  • Platform(s): Xbox Series X, PS5, PC
  • Developers: Arika, BANDAI NAMCO Studio, Tekken Project

It’s coming… We feel this is the best version of Tekken 8 based on the gameplay and the trailer’s credit goes to their big moves on shifting it to Unreal Engine. The new game’s story revolves around the father-son showcase between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama, which was teased at the end of Tekken 7. There are also new gameplay mechanics, such as the Heat System, which allows you to use aggression as a technique to improve each character’s particular capabilities.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Granblue Fantasy Relink

A game with a lot of characters! The fourth game in the list of new games coming out is Cygames, the game’s developer, has been working on it for quite some time now. The game is an action RPG with co-op for up to four players, based on the popular Granblue Fantasy IP. That implies magic, interesting character designs, and plenty of battle. That’s what we know about Granblue Fantasy so far…

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League
  • Release Date: Feb 2, 2024
  • Platform(s): PS5, Xbox Series X, PC
  • Developer: Rocksteady Studios

From the very day of the game’s trailer, it got some of the most negative reviews from the hardcore DC fans. We being the neutral one, should respect everyone’s views but yea, the trailer looked a bit off but we never know what the developers have to offer after the actual release. Team up as Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, or Captain Boomerang, with bots or other players taking on the roles of the other four while you play. Set in the Batman: Arkham universe, Rocksteady has already stated that this is a continuation of prior games, so expect a few existing threads and storylines to be addressed.

Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2
  • Release Date: Feb 8, 2024
  • Platform(s): PS5, PC
  • Developer: Arrowhead Game Studios

If we speak about one of the most anticipated games of 2024 then the name of Helldivers comes to the light. Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter game and the sequel to the original Helldivers, a twin-stick shooter released in 2015. Arrowhead’s game pits players against aggressive bug-like aliens equipped with high-tech weapons, and it looks a lot like Starship Troopers.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden
  • Release Date: February 13, 2024
  • Platform(s): PC, PS5, Xbox Series X
  • Developer: Don’t Nod

Dontnod, the developer behind Life is Strange and Vampyr, is working on a new action-RPG set in the cold wilderness of North America in 1695. We’ll be following two ghost hunters, Antea Duarte and Red Mac Rait, as they attempt to safeguard the living from ethereal creatures. According to the company, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will have a vast universe and plenty of mysterious cases to solve, with difficult decisions influencing how you go through it. Overall, this game does carry a huge potential for a long run success.

Skull and Bones

Skull and Bones
  • Release Date: February 16, 2024
  • Platform(s): PS5, Xbox Series X, PC
  • Developers: Ubisoft, Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Blue Byte, Ubisoft Chengdu

Skull and Bones is also a game which the fans are most excited about. A legit pirate game vibe!!! Sea of Thieves isn’t the only open-world pirate game out there; Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones is also launching, offering a much more realistic take on pirate battles on the high seas. Skull & Bones is essentially Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag without the Assassins, as it is being developed by much of the same team that worked on Black Flag, and it promises a sprawling solo campaign in which you compete for control of the 18th-century waterways of the Indian Ocean.

The game offers the thrill of upgrading and customizing your piracy vessel, allowing players to craft ships their way. The diversity of ships and wide range of weapons is what makes this game kick-ass!

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
  • Release Date: February 29, 202
  • Platform(s): PS5
  • Developers: Square Enix, Creative Business Unit |

If we speak about the solo upcoming ps5 games then Final Fantasy kinda tops the list. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is officially called Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The world of beautiful fantasies is here! Cloud will make his long-awaited return, and Square Enix has teased a significant departure from the original FF7 plot. Given that Crisis Core’s Zack was heavily featured in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reveal video, you may want to check out the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion remaster, which will be released later this year, to catch up on the tale.

Alone in the Dark

Alone in the Dark
  • Release Date: March 20, 2024
  • Platform(s): PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
  • Developers: Atari SA, Atari, Infogrames, THQ Nordic, Electronic Arts, MORE

Super Spooky!! That was our reaction when we first saw the teaser of Alone in the Dark. THQ Nordic’s upcoming game Alone in the Dark stars Jodie Comer and David Harbour as Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby, respectively. It is described as a love letter to the cult classic horror game from the 1990s, set in the 1920s American South with a noir atmosphere and Lovecraftian horror elements weaved throughout. It has now been delayed a second time, pushing it even further into 2024, but based on our hands-on Alone in the Dark preview, the wait will be worthwhile.

What we can say as of now is you can expect a fresh and captivating take on the survival horror genre with an intriguing storyline.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragons Dogma 2
  • Release Date: March 22, 2024
  • Platform(s): PS5, Xbox Series X, PC
  • Developer: Capcom

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released even sooner than we expected. Hideaki Itsuno will oversee the long-awaited sequel, which will be constructed using the RE Engine, which has powered everything from Devil May Cry 5 to Resident Evil Village. RPG aficionados, take note: Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most anticipated new games of 2024.

Rise of the Ronin

Rise of the Ronin
  • Release date: March 22, 2024
  • Platform(s): PS5
  • Developer: Team Ninja

Team Ninja is working on a new PlayStation 5 exclusive called Rise of the Ronin. The game is set in late nineteenth-century Japan and will apparently be a combat-focused open-world action-RPG. Open-world + action game= Win-Win situation! The unveiling looked spectacular, especially from the release date announcement trailer revealed at The Game Awards 2023. Team Ninja is renowned for its samurai action games, and Rise of the Ronin appears to carry on that legacy.

Princess Peach: Showtime!

Princess Peach Showtime
  • Release Date: March 22, 2024
  • Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
  • Developer: Nintendo

To all the Mario fans who never get bored of Mario games but deep inside they want something just like Mario, this game might be for you! It’s been much too long since Mario’s resident royal received her own mainline game, and Princess Peach Showtime comes to change that. In this action-adventure Switch exclusive, Peach will take on numerous guises to save a theatre from closing for good. It already looks charming.

Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth Wukong
  • Release Date: August 20, 2024
  • Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One
  • Developers: Game Science Interactive Technology Co., Ltd., Game Science

An action role-playing game based on a well-known legend from Chinese mythology is being developed. After playing a hands-on Black Myth: Wukong preview at Gamescom 2023, we are so excited to play one of the upcoming games of 2024 that we couldn’t wait to see it. Its intricate fighting systems contain a plethora of unique powers, skills, and combos to augment the Monkey King’s kung fu-inspired melee moves, the latter mostly involving whacking adversaries with a gigantic bamboo stick.

Based on our initial observations, Black Myth appears to be a game that enthusiasts of top FromSoftware titles should definitely check out when it releases in late 2024.

Last Thoughts on Upcoming Games of 2024

Phew… That’s enough games to play and even write about. The drill is, we ain’t tired! We feel this year is filled with some extraordinary games filled with super duper gameplays, to-the-point stories, larger-than-life BGMS, and whatnot.

Of course, the world of interactive games has tremendously grown over the years and there is no denying the fact that it will grow in the coming years. So if you’re someone who wishes to cash in on the wave of interactive games and make your own game then you’re in the right place.

Reach out to 300Mind, one of the prominent game design and development studios that have made more than ten games on mobile for both Android and IOS. Recently we’ve released a cult classic game Dots and Boxes: A New Era that has broken several records and is being loved by the gaming community as a whole.

So yes, a lot of things to checklist this year. We hope you’re not wasting your time on other things but playing some dope games. You know what we mean (YKWWM).
